Welcome Friends,

We are inviting you to join us on a trip of a life time for our family.  We decided that we would invite all our friends to share not only in our wedding but also in our journey to a newbeginning. As we move from Dallas to Boston we intend making a couple of stops, taking in the sites, sounds, and tastes of every local along this journey.

Life is a journey! Lets always take time to stop and enjoy everything around us because if you do it right you never go by the same place twice.

Hotels Review

I don't know if i can call myself a hotel connoisseur but i love looking for great deals on the Internet.  The following are the hotels we stayed at during our journey and comments about them.

Ritz-Carlton New Orleans:
I was presently surprised by the standard.  I had not set my expectations to high for this property.  However we found a great guy at front desk his name was Gary and he up graded us to a really big room.

Concierge: A guy called Rudy who was nothing but rudey! It seemed to frustrate him that i was asking about the best restaurants in the area.  Hello like that is your J-O-B!

The flowers in the hotel were arranged well but they were not top notch flowers.

Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, FL: For this property it look better on the pictures then it really is.  Honestly i expected way more and i got less esthetically. I noticed that the Valet take forever to bring around the car.  Personnel were a little bit distant i remember walking all the way down to the beach without meeting any staff.  This is unusual for other Ritz they are usually on you like white on rice.

I did like the coastal view rooms because it is a cheaper way to get an ocean view.

Embassy Suites Richmond, VA: BAD!  I knew what i was getting into when i saw their website but i did not expect it to be that bad.  The Embassy Suites that i have stayed in before were not flashy but they were standard.  This hotel was below standard.  I am not comparing it with the Ritz but for a Hilton chain it was a disappointment.  When we cheeked in and i saw the management i knew the rooms were going to be a nightmare and they were. The breakfast (which is the best thing about any Embassy Suites) was needing a visit from a State inspector.  The elevators really should be grounded because i saw a major crack in the door, very unsafe.  I have no good words for this property

Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia, PA: Metropolitan! The lobby was the loudest i have ever heard in a Ritz-Carlton.  It maybe too trendy that it takes away from the classy ambiance that are associated with the chain.  Another thing the rooms DO NOT have ipod docking stations.  The Bell Man was excessive, he talked WAY to much. He was 2 seconds short of asking us if he can hang out in our room.  However we did meet a nice Ethiopian lady at front desk who gave us a great room without the extra charge.

  1. I thought I recognized the Ritz Amelia Islands. We stopped there couple years ago for brunch while driving up along FL coast. And I must agree the staff do not pay that much attention. But i thought their grounds are beautiful. The beach there seems to have much stronger waves and winds. i stayed away. I will have to share with you Cathy our story of Ritz Carlton vs Carlton saga that happened to us last visit a couple of months ago - very hilarious.
